About Shawn

I’ve been in the owner’s seat.

My perspective comes from building businesses, leading teams, serving customers and facing the uncertainty every owner eventually encounters.

The beginning

From $600 to building multiple companies making multimillions annually.

I grew up as the son of a nickel miner and a stay-at-home mom. I moved to the city with just $600 in my pocket and no family wealth behind me.

Over time, I built, operated and sold businesses across sports, technology, construction, automotive services and entertainment.

Building from the ground up

I built Lytton Sports Camps into a successful company that was acquired by Nike Sports Camps and US Sports Camps. I also co-founded a MaRS technology startup. Today, I’m a co-owner of Reynolds Brothers Exteriors and a co-owner and operator of Solid Gold VIP Car Wash.

I also spent part of my career as an actor and producer. That background strengthened my approach to communication, storytelling, branding and sales.

Business through adversity

Leadership looks different when life changes.

I’ve lived with Crohn’s disease for years. During severe health challenges, including hospital stays lasting up to 30 days, I sometimes had to run my businesses from a hospital bed.

That experience changed how I think about leadership, resilience and building a company that can function when the owner cannot carry everything alone. It gave me a deeper appreciation for clear priorities, capable people and systems that support the business through uncertainty.

Why advisory

An experienced entrepreneur in your corner.

Entrepreneurs have regularly asked me for advice about growth, marketing, people, operations and important decisions. I created Reynolds Business Advisory to work formally with a select number of owners who can benefit from that experience.

I’m not trying to build a large consulting firm. I want to provide thoughtful, hands-on guidance to owners whose businesses and challenges are a strong fit.

What you can expect

Honest feedback, practical next steps, clear priorities and advice tailored to the realities of your business.
