Frequently asked questions
What to expect.
Straightforward answers about how Reynolds Business Advisory works.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
I don’t limit my work to specific industries. My experience spans more than five industries, including services, trades, sports and recreation, entertainment, as well as technology startups. That broad experience helps me recognize patterns, identify opportunities and address challenges across many different types of businesses. I work with early-stage and growing businesses, startups, established owner-operated businesses solving a challenge, and companies ready to move to the next level.
Where do you work with business owners?
I’ve worked as an entrepreneur across the U.S. and Canada and can collaborate with entrepreneurs and business owners around the world. Meetings typically take place by video, but in-person meetings may be available by arrangement.
Is this traditional consulting?
No. My approach is practical, direct and based on firsthand ownership experience. The work is tailored to your business and focused on decisions, priorities and action.
How does an engagement begin?
It starts with a complimentary introductory call. We discuss where the business is now, what is working, where you are stuck and what you want to accomplish. If there is a strong fit, I’ll recommend the most useful way to work together and provide a clear scope, timing and fee before you decide to move forward.
What ways can we work together?
There are three main options. A focused strategy session is designed for one important challenge, opportunity or decision. Project-based advisory provides a defined scope, deliverables and timeline. Ongoing monthly advisory offers regular owner-to-owner support, decision guidance and accountability as the business grows. If you are unsure, the introductory call will help us identify the right starting point.
How are fees structured?
Pricing depends on the type of support and the scope of the work. Focused sessions and defined projects are generally offered at a fixed fee, while ongoing advisory is structured as a monthly retainer. You will know the complete fee and what is included before any work begins—there are no surprise charges.
Will you do the work or only give advice?
That depends on the engagement. Some work focuses on strategy and decisions; other engagements include practical deliverables, implementation guidance, training and accountability.
What happens during the complimentary intro call?
We discuss your business, what you are working through and the outcome you want. The purpose is to determine whether there is a strong fit and what type of support would be most useful.
